lol i'll put it here too...

Our defense is still pretty stout, we have some old guys on there, but they lack experience, and thats tough in the SEC, we do have Ramzee back, along with a pretty good D line. I see them trying to score early and force a first year starter to try to come back on them. As far as teh offense, it can only be better even without croyle, one being the Oline prospects from highschool mainly Andre Smith which is projected to start as a true freshman, and with Darby and Castille, i think our game plan is going to be simple, first play we're going to throw it (it's been a pattern) but i don't see us passing that many with a new QB, we have a monster at RB and we're gonna grind down the defense as much as possible, if we can do that it will be a good day, that'll force more men in the box and we could PA to DJ Hall, as you can see form the A-Day game, JPW and DJ Hall hookup pretty well, i'm anxious to see the new defense work against a great QB and high potent offense, it is them that will determine the score, with the talent we have on offense i think we can stay with Hawaii if the defense gives up big plays, but if the defense holds tight i say 31-17, if the defense doesn't look for a heartpounder 31-28 or something along those lines, as for me i can't wait unti Sept 2nd, i'll be getting my tickets for the game pretty soon, and will being one of those crazies in Crimson screaming Roll Tide!

Upcming Season

Post by Crimson_Tider »

I am one of the very few students around campus that actually like our chances when looking at the Tide's Schedule...

Our home schedule is a cakewalk...... \:D/

(Hawaii, Duke, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Florida Int, Ole Miss)

** Sorry Hawaii **

although we lost seven GREAT starters on our defensive unit, we should go undefeated at Bryant-Denny Stadium....

The conflict amongst people concerning our schedule is because of our difficult away games

(Knoxville, Gainesville, Fayetville and.....Baton Rouge)

I really think that if we can get past Tennessee, we have an excellent shot at going undefeated on the road as well...

personally, I see us going undefeated, just like last year...

....UNTIL....

We get to Baton Rouge, I just don't see us winning this game,

LSU should defeat Alabama, and that is when things will go down hill for our season...

and of course, the "rebound" game that we will play is against Auburn

NOT GOOD :)

I see the Crimson Tide (b/c of our defense again) going 11-1 or 10-2
in the regular season, all depending on wether we defeat Auburn

Alabama should post, worst case, an 8-4 regular season....

I would like to be optimistic and say we go undefeated and go to play Notre Dame for the national Championship

we win in dramatic fashion and are the 2006 National Champions...

Ole Miss was horrible last year. Hell, Wyoming spanked them Rebels in Oxford, MS.

The Wyoming fans that attended the game were impressed with the Ole Miss fans. Nothing but good things were said about both groups of fans on the Wyoming board in the week after.

Alabama should have an easy victory against Ole Miss as long as they stay focused.

BTW, the Pokes play Tennessee and LSU in a few years. The Vols in 2009 and the Bayou Bengals of LSU in 2010. Obvouisly, both games will be in the Deep South.

Great idea Crimson_Tider, I made the thread sticky to make it easier for the Alabama fans to find. Thank you!

Scott,

Thanks for making it "Sticky" b/c I know that there are alot of Tide Fans (alot are guests) that browse the entire board, but are unsure where to discuss the Crimson Tide's season

b/c after all, this board does belong to Hawaii \:D/

Why don't you do the same for Wyoming. Unless anyone has any objections. I think it would be cool to give updates on two non-Hawaii schools. Alabama and Wyoming.

Just a thought!

I think if we drop a game, it will be to Florida wanting redemption for our Three in a row on them.

We NEED to win LSU and AU that's what matters, i can handle losing to UF and UcheaT, we have a lot of success in Baton Rouge, we play better there an amazing 23-6-2 against them in their house, i'd rather make it to ATL than emabarassing UF or UT, we need to win the last 2 game of the regular season!

i say 9-3, 10-2 or 11-1, hopefully 10-2 or better, and more better if the 2 loses are to UF and UT and not LSU and AU

i want to grade both teams, but its kind of hard, bc on the gulf coast, they don't show many WAC games, but i'm gonna dig through stats and see if i can find video and i can make the grades and comparison for the Bama-HAwaii game

i am very optimistic about the upcoming season. i am confident that jpw will be a capable qb. the offense can't be worse. our wr's will be better. oline will be improved. darby will be darby. defense won't be as good, but still good. our back-ups had plenty of playing time. all people look at is the 6 or 7 starters that are gone. well the backups play just a little less than they did. our dl will be stout. i have full confidence in shula. ALABAMA:

Top Ten Players for the 2006 Squad:

1. RB Ken Darby, Sr.
2. C Antoine Caldwell, Soph.
3. LB Juwan Simpson, Sr.
4. DT Jeremy Clark, Sr.
5. OT Kyle Tatum, Sr.
6. FB Le'Ron McClain, Sr.
7. WR D.J. Hall, Jr.
8. CB Ramzee Robinson, Sr.
9. WR Keith Brown, Jr.
10. DE Wallace Gilberry, Jr.
* WR/KR Ty Prothro would by 2nd if/when 100% healthy.

OFFENSE:
returning starters: 9

Quarterbacks:

Star Of The Pack: QB John Parker Wilson, Soph.

QB John Parker Wilson, Soph.

Passing:

7 for 11 for 98 yards for 2 TD's and 0 INT

Rushing:

3 attemtps for -6 yards and 1 TD

Shows great promise for a team that is trying to rise back as a national power in college football. He received playing time in the 2005 season against Auburn, so he has some SEC experience. He made a pretty good showing at Alabama's annual A-Day game hooking up with DJ Hall several times for Touchdowns, Due to his inexperience as a starter he's going to have to get a lower grade simply bc he has not proven his worth as a starter for Alabama.... 80 B-

QB Jimmy Barnes, FR.

Any few words, he's slow, a great passer, but shown an inability to make good decisions, might get playing time in a game in where we are up a considerable amount. 69 D+

RB,QB Jimmy Johns, Soph.
Switched position to RB, but has shown to be used in a RB pass because he was Mr. Football in Mississippi as a QB.

QB Greg McElroy, Fr.
Possbily a redshirt, it'll be a big decision for Shula and the staff, bc of no really great backup for JPW, i think i'd roll the dice and Redshirt him, he is a great talent out of Texas, won the 5A division 1 title and his high school finished 3rd in the nation

Quarterbacks as a whole.. depth issues produces a low grade, if JPW goes down we could be in trouble 74 C-

Running Backs:

Star Of The Pack: RB Ken Darby, SR
Rushing Yards: 2,489 Yards for 11 TD's(should be noted that Castille is short yardage back and scores majority of TD's)

RB Ken Darby, SR.
The star of the whole offense itself. The offensive gameplan, more than not, will depend on him, a top notch premier back that has great speed, agility, and awareness of the field giving me no choice but a 99 A+

RB Glen Cofee, Soph.
Good backup for Darby, has seen quite a few snaps behind Darby 85 B

RB,QB Jimmy Johns, Soph.
switched to RB, but has served as a backup and have seen multiple snaps last season. Also shown in spring game to run the RB pass. 80 B-

RB Ali Sharieff RS Fr.
Yet another backup, a Redshirt Freshman so ungradable

RB Roy Upchurch RS Fr,
Yet another backup, a Redshirt Freshman so ungradable

RB Mike Ford, Fr
Due to come to university in the fall, a 5 star out of Florida, went to Junior College and is due back to the Capstone, no grade

FB Le'Ron McClain, SR.
Could arguably be the second best talent on the offense, a power blocker, he can throw mean blocks and as you can see in our Bama-Florida video from the 2005 season (ask if you haven't seen it) got hit hard by a Florida safety but the safety got leveled, due to his veteran ability he is another high grader at 95 A

FB Tim Castille, SR

A great player, we call him the Touchdown specialist, if we are inside the ten yard line he becomes the starting FB instead of Le'Ron. due to his ability in the red zone and due to the fact thats the only time he goes in 90 A-

Running Backs as a whole: Due to incredible depth, although we wouldnt be as high potent with Darby injured with all th detph its all deserving of a 93 A-

Offensive Line:

Star Of The Pack: OT Kyle Tatum, Sr & OT Andre Smith, FR

Alabama's Achilles's heel for the latter part of last season, but is being greatly improved by incoming Freshman. look to see a much improved line with better pass protection and will also open up the running game, with all of the improvements the grade must go up from last year... 85 B

Wide Receiver:

Star Of The Pack: *WR DJ Hall, Jr. *= Due to absence of Ty Prothro

WR DJ Hall, Jr
A wonderful player, the best WR we have now, made big plays against Florida, Tennessee, and LSU, he has an incredible ability to get open no matter what and catches alot that are thrown his way, he put up 3 or 4 TD in the Spring game, due to his threat grade goes to 92 A-

WR Keith Brown, Jr
With DJ Hall in zone or double covered, Keith iss the next guy you want to look at, in the Florida game, he showed us his great breakaway speed, although he has been known to drop a few, due to this his grade goes gown to 85 B

WR Matt Caddell, Jr
Same as Keith Brown but with less speed, also known to drop a few, 85 B

WR Will Oakley, SO
less experienced but a good backup nonetheless 80 B+

WR Nikita Stover, Xfer
5 Star from JUCO, shows some good promise at the capstone, i don't see any starts anytime soon, maybe next year 75 C

Wide Receivers as a whole: Great core of WR lead to an A rating 90 A

i have finished the offense, i will add more to it, plus the addition of the defense, and i'll get on hawaiis, stick around for more!

I honestly pray that each and everyone on the players and coaching staff take Hawaii as a "CAKEWALK" and put us in the same category as Duke, Florida Intl, LA-Monroe.... I'm serious... I also hope the spread is like 30 something points.... :D

Please encourage everyone to overlook us. :D

he was just quote CollegeFootballNews i'm sure, maybe cakewalk is a bad way to put it, but you have to admit no Florida, No Tennessee, no LSU at home makes the home schedule pretty easy
