The Road to Omaha

Post by HawaiianHogster »

The Razorbacks are well on their way to another showing in the NCAAT on their way to Omaha. Last years loss in the NC game was a wake up call. A missed foul ball that would have been the third out that Arkansas needed to win the NC in game 2 turned out to be the play that lead them to lose the NC in 3 games. Arkansas was not chosen to repeat this year nor are they picked to win the SECT. However the Hogs have been winning their conference games like never before. Two sweeps over two top 20 teams in Mississippi State (was number 2) and Tennessee (was number 18). The number 5 Hogs travel to Kentucky for a 3 game series this weekend. They end their regular season playing LSU and Texas A&M before going into the SECT.

Hogs pitching and hitting has improved alot even though their defensive play percentage has dropped. If they can improve on their defense and continue great outings pitching and hitting there is no reason they can't make it back to Omaha for the college world series. Many sports media and writers do not give them much of a chance to make it to Omaha. We shall see.

Arkansas improves on their win column by winning 2 series against Kentucky at Kentucky and against LSU at Fayetteville. Arkansas had a chance to sweep both teams in the top and bottom of the 9th but came up short losing those two games by 1 run each. Next up for the Hogs at Texas A&M for 3 game series.

I could not find game 3 for both games on youtube. Arkansas lost both of those games by one run. If the Hogs can win the series against Texas A&M I believe they will have a chance to host at home in the NCAAT enroot to Omaha for the world series.

I'm ready for computers and robots to call strikes and balls. It will give the batters a better chance of hitting the ball instead of striking out on close calls and sometimes bad strike calls and bad ball calls. It will be more consistent and more accurately called.
