we didn't "miss". UCF coach Scott Frost built a relationship with Milton at a QB camp in Oregon and kept recruiting him until he switched. That's why summer camps are so important - early opportunities to build relationships with potential recruits...

Thanks SundayJam. I was wondering why he got away from Hawaii. I had this misconception that Rolo was looking for the prototype NFL build QB then he picks up Dru Brown who ends up the starter. Then Milton starts as a freshman at UCF and they end up 6-7 but this year 2-0. I guess it was just Milton's decision and he's turning out to be another Hawaii kid does well on the mainland. Good for him.

Underrated small QB right in our backyard. UCF ranked 18th in the nation.

Milton went 24-26 passing today. About 3 passing TDs and 1 running and a million yards in less than a full game due to blow out.

I was sad when he left.

My understanding was that he wanted to play for Frost. So we didn't miss on him. We lost out on him.

So what will Scott Frost do and if he moves, how will that affect Milton? Frost's name is coming up in connection with the vacant Florida job. http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/search-fir ... d=50800927

Milton was fantastic running and passing the ball over Memphis. I watched the game with a lot of enthusiasm as if it were UH playing for the MWC. He was really cool under pressure and ran the ball like a running back. Hawaii boy makes good.

Congrats to McKenzie Milton in beating Auburn

Post by quikfeat »

McKenzie was a lifelong UH Fan sleeping in his UH gear when he was a kid, committed to Chow & once Chow was fired Milton stated, I'll still honor my commitment to UH if the new UH coach has him. We all knew Rolo screwed up when Milton went with Scott Frost but now, every Big Game that Milton wins makes letting him go look even worst. If you can beat Auburn, you can beat anybody. If Scott Frost stayed at UCF, now it almost looks like a Guarantee Milton would have won the Heisman had Frost stayed at UCF. Let's hope Milton still wins the Heisman or decides to come home since Milton has stated he really misses Hawaii. After today, Josh Heupel is going to do everything in his power to keep him at UCF.

Do you have a link to that quote?

This had nothing to do with Rolo.

It had to do with being recruited to a better place. https://ucf.rivals.com/news/frost-gets-his-qb

When Frost was the OC at Oregon, he saw Milton at a camp and liked him. But Oregon didn't have any QB slots and Milton committed to Chow. Rolo knew all about him because he was Nevada's recruiter in Hawaii. Rolo was in Milton's house soon after accepting the job as the UH HC and Milton confirmed his commitment to UH. Frost got the job at UCF and makes an offer. Milton accepts Frost's offer. How did Rolo "screw up"?

UCF also accomplished what Hawaii has never been able to. And UCF coach showed how you can move on to another job and do it with class. A good lesson for everyone to learn.

Hard to say if Milton can go to the next level and succeed like Mariota. I wouldn’t rule him out.
