Remember Andrew Pearman?
Top Running Back from Virginia, came to Hawaii for a year, then returned home?
Well he's doing well and training future athletes for the next level

Re: Remember Andrew Pearman?
I really wondered how he'd impact UH's running and passing game with that amazing speed, however, that never materialized. Glad he found his niche in life.
Be humble and confident in yourself and all things you do.
Re: Remember Andrew Pearman?
Can't help it if he got homesick. Hawaii is quite far from home and family.

I remember the name but can't remember what year he was with UH. Can someone please refresh my memory?

I don't remember him getting any playing time as a freshman.

I remember a certain coach said this is a trend seen for kids from the mainland. Redshirting and feeling home sick not a good combo, especially if the recruiting coach promised them the world.
By playing them, even a little during their true freshman year, enabled them to bond more with the team and gave them incentive to work harder after experiencing the speed and power of the game day experience

Didn't work with Keith Kirkwood though.

Re: Remember Andrew Pearman?
My recollection is that JJ intended to have him see the field as a freshman as you posted. APaloha, who was from from North Carolina would have been returning kicks his true freshman year except that he pulled his hammy during Fall Camp which set him back. He also shuffled between RB and WR/SB. With his 10.4/10.5 speed, he would have thrived as a KR and R&S SB IMHO. He also had a fiance-girlfriend on the east coast, and UVa (which was a poor fit for his skill set but where his bro played and he verballed to earlier) was a lit closer to her. I seem to recall that she was attendance ng an Ivy. The injury so early on, redshirting as a result and being so far away from home and his girl and with the success of his brother at UVa (and family having favored UVa) probably had him constantly second guessing his decision to choose UH. What could have been if he experienced early success here.BigWave96744 wrote:He redshirted then transferredMy3Cats wrote:I don't remember him getting any playing time as a freshman.
