FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that they have released RB Joey Iosefa (YO-sef-ah). Read
Iosefa, 24, was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Dec. 19, and played in the last two games, totaling 15 carries for 51 yards. He originally was signed to the New England practice squad on Oct. 21, 2015. The 6-foot, 245-pounder, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round (231st overall) out of Hawaii in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was released by Tampa Bay on Aug. 30, 2015.

Hopefully a team was impressed by Joey and give him another shot

Patriots release RB Joey Iosefa:

The team announced on Friday that it had released the second-year running back. Iosefa was signed to a future contract in February.

At 6-feet, 240 pounds, Iosefa would have been in competition for New England's "big back" role had he remained on the roster. After re-signing both LeGarrette Blount (6-feet, 250 pounds) and fullback James Develin (6-3, 255 pounds) this offseason, however, Iosefa's hold on a roster spot became more tenuous.
