So, Star-Lord and Captain America just made the most Boy Scout Super Bowl bet ever

It’s that time of year again. Super Bowl XLIX is bearing down on America with all the force of outrageously over-priced ads. This year, the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will duke it out for the title of Super Bowl Champion.
But they’ll ALSO be battling for the favor of their respective superhero patrons. Captain America (Chris Evans) favors the Patriots — of course he does — while Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) will be rooting for the Seahawks. And the happiness of children is on the line, after some Twitter smack-talk turned into the cutest bet of all time.

Such a shame that a great Super Bowl match up is being overshadowed by this deflate-gate stuff. Although I'm a pats fan i try to be unbias on scandals like this. If in fact Brady, belichick, or anyone else purposely deflated the balls or paid someone to do it then I'm all for suspensions, heavy fines, lost of draft picks, etc. But based on what I heard to this point, theres really isn't much information or evidence to prove whether or not the patriots cheated. I just hope the nfl gets this investigation done soon so we can move on to the Super Bowl!

Both teams were championship caliber, but the Patriots had the better offense tonight albeit by a four point margin, and the Pat defensive rookie made the play of the game to ice it for New England.i have felt that Brady had another Super Bowl ring left in him.
That said,Seattle still has a window of opportunity left to get another ring next season.

Still can't believe it.

If anybody knows the pain and can relate to Seahawks fan, that'd be a fan of Punahou football. Almost ten years ago, after a long drought without ILH championships, we earned the opportunity to play the powerhouse that was Kahuku. We started the 3rd quarter with a 21-12 lead but watched them score 16 straight points. Nonetheless, we only needed a touchdown to tie the game. After gaining a first down, we reached their 2-yard line with about 20 seconds remaining. What did we do on first down? Pass--into the hands of a Kahuku defender. Kahuku took a knee and won the game. We've suffered A LOT of state championship losses since then but can still remember that one pretty well. This is to tell people that this isn't the first time an offense made a mistake with the game seemingly in hand. And don't forget that this is deja vu for Carroll--remember USC-Texas?wyokie wrote:That was brain dead STUPID!!!!! A jackass CSU graduate coulda done a better job than Carroll did. Punahou Football: 12-1, 2008 ILH and State Champions! 11-0, 2013 ILH and State Champions, a team for the ages!

Re: Super Bowl XLIX Patriots vs Seahawks Game Thread
I was shocked by the play call but Seattle's clock management on the last drive led up to that call. They wasted two timeouts when they couldn't get plays called in time. The first one was at mid-field with 1:50 left to play. The second was the timeout after the Kearse catch.
It was first and goal to go from the 5 when they called the second time out with 1:06 left. This left them with 4 possible downs but only 1 timeout left.
On first down Lynch ran for 4 to the 1 with about 1:00 left. Seattle now had 3 possible downs and only 1 timeout.
While still possible to run 3 times using the timeout, Seattle was probably concerned they couldn't get the last play called, change personnel if needed and actually run the play. That's why Carroll called the pass. If it was incomplete, they could definitely run twice using the timeout while still getting the right personnel on the field both times.
Unfortunately for Seattle, it wasn't an incompletion.
The play call will be remembered for years, but the wasted timeouts which led up to the call won't be.

O.K. That makes sense, uhwarriors. It was clock management that killed Seattle in Super Bowl XL (vs. Pittsburgh). So...history does repeat.uhwarriors wrote:I was shocked by the play call but Seattle's clock management on the last drive led up to that call.
