Not to sound gory or insensitive, but the more Trojans go down before the game, the more the Warriors get chance!

That's the hope anyway......Taylor needs to be "for real"....or else......couz808 wrote:If taylor graham starts, of course we get chance.
Re: 2013 preseason news: USC
There's a whole lot right with USC's program, and there's a whole lot wrong with ours. I don't think injuries should be cheered ever, and I don't think it matters where USC is concerned--considering their depth and experience. We'll see what of Chow's team rebuilding has taken place. That's what really matters. If you've got a decent plan, it doesn't matter who your starting quarterback is. Dan Robinson would be a perfect example...as would Chang, Rolovich, Brennan, etc...J-Rod wrote:That's the hope anyway......Taylor needs to be "for real"....or else......couz808 wrote:If taylor graham starts, of course we get chance.

We need the right tude and leaders to step up to the plate. I remember Chow saying how we needed to find more tough guys.

Re: 2013 preseason news: USC
Agreed. I don't get any jollies when players get hurt. Even Kiffin knew that if you don't have depth then full contact practices can create problems.
JJ knew this, Mac followed suit. Chow had to find out the hard way.
The injuries don't sound serious so I believe Kiffin is taking a very conservative approach and keeping them out so the injuries do not become serious injuries.

Re: 2013 preseason news: USC
The guys that replace the injured players would have been starters for Hawaii in their freshmen years.
Re: 2013 preseason news: USC
Yeah, not to mention, we WANT Wittek to start against UH. He was flat out terrible as a replacement for Barkley, especially in the Sun Bowl. Much rather play against him than their backups.madeinhawaii wrote:The guys that replace the injured players would have been starters for Hawaii in their freshmen years.

USC had same problems last year and we know what happened. The improvement needs to come from our end.

Re: 2013 preseason news: USC
If you don't have the same athleticism, with USC, you need a lot of depth in Defense (to keep from being totally worn down) and a quick strike, somewhat gimicky offense to put some points up early. In the past, we've had the offense, but not the depth defensively.
Re: 2013 preseason news: USC
Well then, don't expect much. To be honest, this UH team doesn't have real depth anywhere. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.madeinhawaii wrote:If you don't have the same athleticism, with USC, you need a lot of depth in Defense (to keep from being totally worn down) and a quick strike, somewhat gimicky offense to put some points up early.
