+1 agree with you listreignjah11 wrote:^yea i agree, Johnny football lost twice so as long as oregon runs the table and Mariota continues to play like he's doing then i think he'll win it. Another guy i was impressed with this week and i have him behind Mariota is Jameis Winston from fsu.
My top 5 right now:
1. Marcus Mariota (Oregon)
2. Jameis Winston (Florida State)
3. AJ McCarron (Alabama)
4. Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M)
5. Bryce Petty (Baylor)

Re: Marcus Mariota named Oregon Ducks starting QB
About Marcus Mariota, Oregon Ducks starting QB, could it be that they're playing as a prevent defense and giving the wide receivers more room to catch the ball. The arm is there for him to throw and so they're just going to make him commit all the errors during a pass rush. They have big linemen in Oregon. This is one reason to cheer for. He has come true all the time in the clutch. Hawai'i's QB has no big linemen to ward off the defense.

Not looking good for the ducks, 17-0 Stanford half. Similar to last yrs game, Stanford is just more physical, pounding the ball and dominating the trenches.

I know Mariota is being pressured all night but hes playing terrible tonight. Not sure if he'll even be a candidate anymore for the heisman.

It's official, 26-20 Stanford beats oregon. Alabama vs Florida State is still an interesting matchup, i hope they don't get upset.

Marcus Mariota returning to Oregon for Junior Year
Good for him, returning to obtain his degree and develop as a better QB. Should be a favorite in the Heisman race next year. And another opportunity to defeat Stanford.

That was heartbreaking! The media is gonna pin this on mariota but that oline is terrible. Still get chance though to be a heisman candidate but he gotta win out.

Total domination by the ducks tonight! Pac 12 champs! Look forward to seeing them in the playoffs, arguably made a case that they should be #1 but would rather they stay at 2 and go to the rose bowl. Mariota is pretty much a lock for the heisman! Congrats to him!

Why No One Wanted Marcus Mariota
Coaches Often Ignore Hawaiian Players, so Only Oregon Recruited the Heisman Favorite

One of the alluring mysteries of college football this season is why almost every coach in the country was so wrong about Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Mariota is stretching the statistical limits we use to understand college quarterbacks. At this point, the question isn’t if Mariota wins the Heisman Trophy on Saturday, but if he wins by the widest margin ever. By the end of the season, he may end up with a bigger prize, as the Ducks play Florida State on Jan. 1 in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
Every college team wishes it had Mariota now. Nearly every NFL team does, too. As it turns out, though, almost no schools wanted Mariota when they could have had him.

Right away, Kelly knew he had something in Mariota
By Reuben Frank
December 11, 2014, 12:30 pm
Chip Kelly knew very quickly just how talented Marcus Mariota is.
It was the fall of Mariota’s freshman year at Oregon, when Kelly, then Oregon’s head coach, got his first look at the native of Hawaii.
“When he was a freshman, I remarked this kid’s going to win the Heisman,” Kelly said.
On Saturday, Kelly’s prediction will most likely come true.
