am i wrong to say, nicco needs to be a priority recruit because of his father? hahaha

can we tell his billionaire father.... donate 10 million to the university and your son will start as a true freshman and will never lose his starting position as long as you keep that donations flowing....

nah... just kidding... his dad probably would want his son to earn his playing time....

but seriously, we need to get this kid.

Will be nice to have him and the QB to see up close.

Since he is in 2015 class I'm assuming they expect him to grow , since 5'7" is a little small.

But then again.... If he can play

and his 40 is a little slow at 4.6...and his weight is light at 145lbs.
Yeah, there must be more to the story than the numbers.

Checked out a couple of the videos that Sportsbow linked. Good hands, ball hawk, lots of football savvy. He may be small now, but he's definitely a player and hits a ton. Similar to former Warrior FS Nate Jackson?

He's pretty slow. Flat-footed almost.

Either Chow projects him to be a much better athlete in a couple of years or this is purely a political/money offer.

Gorman player selected for USA U-15 team
By Ray Brewer (contact)

Friday, July 29, 2011 | 2:05 a.m.

Nicco Fertitta has spent parts of the past few weeks practicing with the Bishop Gorman High varsity football team.

The incoming freshman safety has done enough to earn a spot on the roster for the Gaels’ first two games — in Glendale, Ariz., against No. 23 Chaparral High of Scottsdale and at home against No. 2 Armwood High of the Tampa, Fla., area.

The experience of training with two-time defending state champion Gorman has paid off in more than a stint with the varsity squad. Fertitta was selected Tuesday for the USA U-15 team, which will play Canada in January at the Eastbay Youth All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Fertitta was picked after excelling at a pair of Football University events, including against hundreds of other youth players last week at its Top Gun camp in Williamsburg, Va. Football University evaluates players for the series of All-American games each January.

The confidence he displayed at the camp can partially be credited to his short time at Gorman. He has guarded junior wide receiver Ryan Smith and senior running back Shaquille Powell — two of the nation’s best at the their positions — in drills.

There were at least 6 Hawaii kids at the Eastbay games this year. I don't see any football reasons to offer this kid that early. They should've offered Canton Kaumatule, Fred Ulu-Perry, Semisi Uluave and Ryder Kuhns yesterday if they're going to offer these kids that early (not to say they haven't- not everyone tweets).
