Re: Road Warriors

If anyone believes the State will rebuild Aloha Stadium in 3 years, good luck. It’s time UH and High school start fending for themselves.

Like the airport, and the convention center, the stadium is a tax cash cow that provides milk for those fortunate few.

Re: 2020 High School Football

I really don't think fall sports can happen. If Hawaii opens travel on Aug.1st, and public school goes on Aug.2nd, that's a lot of unknowns hitting the fan at once. If even 1 high school reports upswing in covid cases, the whole thing will come tumbling down. The minimum thing the OIA should do is ...

Re: Boys' and Girls' Basketball '19-'20

Well Coach Akana has division 1 college experience and in a tight game, I would choose a strategist like Akana over any coach. Sauvao back adds experience and a game tested athlete on the team. In retrospect, Sauvao should have quarterbacked the football team. Just saying he had more experience and ...

Re: Boys' and Girls' Basketball '19-'20

Robbie Sauvao back at Kahuku. After beating Moanalua and Kalaheo, Red Raiders look to move up at least to #5. Right now Akana has the team running more efficient. Naz is right If Akana was coaching a ILH team, with his recruiting ability and coaching, nothing impossible. He has inside track of the n...

Re: Boys' and Girls' Basketball '19-'20

Yep, preseason. What can you say. Kahuku is Kahuku. I'm sure Coach Akana will get the team running. In one publication that kid from Mary knoll was listed as 7'. Ok. Lotta misinformation out there. That and "offers", to attract offers??? Yep I think Maryknoll at #1 and maybe Kamehameha #2?...

Re: 2019 High School Football

So I think we can all agree Lahainaluna and Kapaa should move up to D1, although it's tough since MIL D2 and KIF is already so damn small. I wonder what they'll change for next season Well definitely Lahainaluna needs to move up. Their island has 2 D1 teams. Maybe switch with Maui High. With Kapaa,...

Re: 2019 High School Football

Also that’s what you get Kahuku for flying your guys flag above the new gym we building on Kalaepohaku Wow. Didn't know that happened. Never heard of any flag planting in the decades following Kahuku football. Who would want to stir a hornets nest? As a RR fan, apologizes if it was a RR. This is th...

Re: 2019 High School Football

The easy predictions as Unpaid posted. Hilo>Iolani, Lahainaluna>Kapaa and St.Louis>Kahuku. All solid predictions. But......I'm a RR fan. Again as always, it's how you finish and how you survive the brutal Open league. St.Louis, all healthy with the exception of Bothelho. He's playing, but it looks l...

Saying it's better when they are in the mix. Mostly for the OIA rivalry.

Re: 2019 High School Football

I think Waianae had a first year coach and Sanchez at Farrington in a second year. Both areas have studs and heavily recruited by ILH teams. Now with the OIA transfer rules, others that don't go ILH may end up in central.oahu. I hope they don't go down. These are proud progarms.

Re: 2019 High School Football

I believe for the most part that teams are in their well respected division with Lahainaluna being an exception. They might have to realign the Open Division again too. With Waianae & Farrington not being competitive as years before. Lahainaluna is dominating D2. Their roster list at least 12 p...
