Re: *****OFFICIAL HAWAII VS VANDERBILT GAME THREAD*****

I think eventually Timmy and Shoemaker will sort out the offense, who should and shouldn't be playing. Walthall, Johnson were a few positives from last night. Yellen throws a strong ball. Defense...I've got nothing. That was Norm era pathetic, maybe worse. We look slow (that's because they are) and ...

Re: Nevada Should Be A Bigger Favorite Against Hawaii

Depends. Was the second half of the BSU game a turning point for the offense? Night and day difference from the first half. If UH can build off that momentum this week, they have a chance. Offense must rise, however. No other option. Strong, Doubs, etc. will get their yards/points this weekend. Trem...

Re: *** Official 2020 UH@Wyoming Game Day Thread ***

Splitting the road games isn't the end of the world. Considering UH's historical struggles at Bulldog and War Memorial Stadiums, 1-1 is pretty solid considering the turbulent off-season. That said, honeymoon is over. That's the most vulnerable we've seen Cordeiro look (maybe last season's UNLV game ...

Re: 2020 season

Alright, fine. I'll be the one to ask the scary question: if the status of the 2020 season ends up being tied to the results of decisions made by state officials (for example, what happened in California the other day), what happens to Hawaii football? Would the state lean towards what California su...

Re: Chats with HC Todd Graham

I don't really like the Q&A with Bobby Curran as much as the other two chats because they were more in line with football and the kids. I like the article below as he stresses defense which we have struggled with for close to 10 years. https://www.westhawaiitoday.com/2020/05/04/sports/coach-tod...

Re: Hawaii football team cancels spring practice, scrimmage

Teams with new coaches and new systems will be at a huge disadvantage without spring practice against teams that have the same coaches and systems from last year. There's no way you can install new systems on offense and defense in fall camp and be competitive against them. You need spring practice...

Re: break out player 2020

DL was starting to get bossed by season's end. In the moments La'ulu played, it was a little surprising he wasn't being utilized earlier. The speed and quickness to rush the passer, and the ability to stop the run. In recent years, UH has been thin on DL with both skills.

Awesome for the boy from Wahiawa if this happens
Few recruiting beats hurt like Muti did. He ended up being elite. Losing out on a recruit to a then terrible Fresno stung.

This staff is definitely heavy on high risk, high reward types. Thin on FBS position coaching experience across the board.

Players, coaches will be growing together next fall.

Hawaii ranks 102nd nationally in returning production (these stats account for all production, not just starters). 109th on offense, 75th on defense. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28649423/college-football-teams-most-returning-production-2020 Phase 3 might be on the table, but I'd...

WR Quin Bright Signs LOI

What a huuuuge get. In terms of rating, offers, etc....that's the biggest get since Kennedy Tulimasealii. Yes, the question is there: why did all those schools suddenly back off Bright. Whatever it is, I hope his house is in order...cause this would be an enormous addition for UH. Hawaii doesn't get...

Re: New (Potential) Hire - G.J. Kinne - Offensive Coordinator

Huh. 31 years old. Three years coaching experience. Graduate assistant, offensive analyst, "offensive special projects". Now will oversee UH offensively. Quite the jump.
