Re: 2012 High School Cross Country

The BIIF just released how they are going to be allotting their team/individual qualifiers for states. The past couple of years they took the top two teams and the rest were given to individuals (if five or more individuals qualified then they would would score as a team). This year they are taking ...

Re: 2012 High School Cross Country

This is the only thing I've been able to find about DI vs. DII: CROSS COUNTRY 1. As amended: Add Cross Country to sports having divisional tournaments — to recognize a Division II boys and girls team champion. Format would still be one race per gender. HIADA VOTE: 41-38-9. HHSAA VOTE: 41-31-25 (ILH ...

A five-member Big Island Interscholastic Federation appeals committee has ruled that Konawaena used an ineligible football player this season, forcing the Wildcats to forfeit two nonconference wins and one league victory. BIIF vice president Troy Rimel said the player’s ineligibility stemmed from a ...

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country

Someone posted about this last year so I'll keep it going: These are the only XC runners to have earned a state medal (top 20 finish) in the state championship race every year thru the past four years (So a senior would have to place in the top 20 all four years, a junior the past three, a sophmore ...

I vote for the Konawaena coach. He took a program that hasn't done squat in years and those kids are kicking butt!

Re: Historic Records and Rivalries

The way I understand the transfer rule is that you can play any sport at any time at the public school that you physically reside in their district. If you transfer to any private school you have to sit out a year in any sport that you had participated in the previous year (you can still do sports j...

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country

hzy has done a good job breaking down the boys side so I'll do the same for the girls: Punahou has seven runners that could finish in the top 20 (like last year); so, some other team has to have at least five runners in there also and before Punahou. Sorry, not going to happen! HPA girls have four t...

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country

Let me get this straight...

Punahou girls place all seven varsity runners in the top twenty last year at the state championship race. They only lose one girl from that team and they can replace her with a BRADY? Life isn't fair!!! ;)

Good luck to all! Have fun and stay healthy.

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country

Does anyone know if Punahou, HPA, or Seabury girls are going to do the I'olani race or the Lahainaluna race on 9/17? That might be a good preview of the top three girls teams going at each other early in the season...

Re: 2011 High School Cross Country

Let's not forget about the HPA girls! They have potentially four girls that can finish in the top twenty and Sims, the reigning 400 meter dash state champ, could finish in the top three.
