Re: Way too early top ten HS football 2019

Unpaid I noticed you didn’t mention Wynden Hoohuli, ILB. I saw someone on HPW mention another school is trying to convince his parents to transfer him. But if he stays at St Louis, he will be a great part of that defense. We saw flashes from him last year @genks: Holy crap. You guys already have Bo...

Re: 2019 Baseball/Softball

Even though we lose a lot of key seniors, we should be the favorites to take the title next year. Having Koa Eldredge will ALWAYS give us a chance. Baldwin will be our biggest threat.

Re: Way too early top ten HS football 2019

D-I 1.St.Louis. The Crusaders should roll to another Open title this year. It starts with Jayden DeLaura at QB.He can target Roman Wilson,Koa Nishigaya, and Matt Sykes to throw to,or hand off to RB Dayton Sam. Rod DuPont should anchor the OLine. Now,this is where St.Louis really gets scary...on defen...

Re: 2018-2019 Boy's Basketball Thread

You guys give too much stock into alma maters. I get it to some extent, but this is Hawaii. Everyone sees each other all the time and it's not too intense at the level like say in Texas or California. It's just about helping out the kids wherever you can. As for Hale, it seems his resume stacks up ...

Re: 2018-2019 Boy's Basketball Thread

St. Louis hired Dan Hale as the latest successful coach to try and make it work over there. One thing St. Louis fans should like about this hire is history: the last time SLS hired a former Punahou great (Darryl Gabriel), they won several ILH titles and rarely missed the state tournament in the '90...

Re: 2019 Baseball/Softball

No disrespect to Iolani, but we are too talented and experienced to lose a game 13-3. Oh well, at least we beat them in softball.

Re: 2019 Baseball/Softball

@gopunahou: In baseball, it's hard to compare Punahou School to Baldwin High because they're in different leagues. This much can be said for the Bears: They're undefeated, and they're ranked #1 in the state. As for Punahou, they did win the regular-season ILH title, and are going to States. Right n...

Re: 2019 Baseball/Softball

Koa Eldredge is our best player and Mr. Everything for us.

As for softball, the OIA can take pride in the fact that that's one of the few "OIA sports."

Re: unpaid D-I football

I think that St. Louis students who DON'T play football take a lot of heat, much more heat than they would've taken between 2005 and 2014.

Re: unpaid D-I football

HS football is almost here!!! I know spring football has already begun at most schools. Should be an interesting year, St louis looks like they're loaded with crazy talent this season and should be the top dogs. I think Punahou will be right up there also, returning most of their offense from a yea...

I think the SA gave Ng the award because of his stats. They also may have given St. Francis a "sympathy vote."

Re: 2018-2019 Boy's Basketball Thread

The days of guys like Derrick and Alika are a thing of the past. If a player makes the kind of strides Derrick did as a freshman and sophomore, he’ll transfer to the mainland. Look at Justice Sueing, Jr. @gopunahou: Well, I would hope not. Hawaii has had great high school basketball players before;...
