Madison's Blog » So long Kindergarten!! http://www.sportshawaii.com/madison Blog for Madison Komatsu Sat, 25 Jul 2009 21:44:29 +0000 en-US hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=4.2.4 So Long Kindergarten! http://www.sportshawaii.com/madison/so-long-kindergarten/ http://www.sportshawaii.com/madison/so-long-kindergarten/#comments Sat, 26 May 2007 03:50:48 +0000 http://www.sportshawaii.com/madison/?p=245 Ms. Lei and Ms. WrightAwardsAfter being unable go to school since her diagnosis in January, Maddie was thrilled to be able to attend last week of her Kindergarten school year.  She’s has worked so hard to keep up with her class and schoolwork from home and even received awards for her Christian Character and Overall Outstanding Academic Achievement on Awards night.  At Awards night, every single child at the school receives some kind of award which recognizes their accomplishments during the school year whether it be academic or social.  It’s a great way to give the kids a big pat on the back and lets them know that their efforts are noticed and rewarded.  Maddie was so fortunate to have Ms. Wright guiding her through til the end of the year, not only academically, but emotionally as well.  Thanks to her compassion and patience, Maddie will be a 1st grader next year!

BEACH DAY


Me and BritneyMaddie beachMaddie had fun on the last day of school at Lanikai Beach Park.  She was totally “gung ho” for the first game they played but then ran out of gas and got too tired to play anymore- instead, she enjoyed watching her schoolmates play and cheered them on from the sidelines.  After some fun and games, they had a watergun fight and swam in the ocean.  There were portuguese man-o-war in the water that day and because some of the kids were getting stung, Maddie took short dips for a few minutes Madelyn and Kyliebut decided that she’d rather play it safe on the sand. 

It was her first time back at the beach and she missed playing in the sand but she forgot how cold those showers can be (brrrrr!!).  Nevertheless, what a great way to end the school year, and what a year it was!
