Scott carved this cute pumpkin.  Can you tell what it is?

Although Maddie’s chemo was increased from a 1/2 dose to 3/4 dose since last Friday, her counts are still hanging in there:

White:  3.2 (3.6 on 10/26)
Hemoglobin (red):  11.8 (11.9 on 10/26)
Platelets:  339 (318 on 10/26)
ANC:  2368 (1944 on 10/26)

After Maddie awoke from her anesthesia after her spinal tap Friday, she had a hard time staying awake.  She said she was hot and cold at the same time and starting getting sweaty but her temperature was dropping.  It dropped to 94 within 30 minutes.  Dr. Bob thought she was displaying symptoms of hypoglycemia and quickly had her drink some apple juice and gave her some fluids with sugars in it.  She immediately began having diarrhea and said her stomach hurt.  Maddie’s temperature started to come up within a couple of hours, and she said she was feeling better.  It was a little scary for a while since she was reacting differently this time and had a hard time staying awake.  Dr. Bob said it could’ve been because she hadn’t eaten for 7 hours before surgery and, even though she always has to fast, her body may have reacted differently this time.  They asked if Maddie ate lots of halloween candy lately, but she hadn’t eaten any at all.  Her blood sugar levels will be tested everytime she comes in to make rule out diabetes….

Hope you all had a sweet halloween too!!
