Congratulations to the UH Wahine softball team, which was selected to play in the NCAA tournament.  They play their first game at Arizona State on Friday against Mississippi State.  Here’s what coach Bob Coolen had to say:

“I am totally awestruck,” head coach Bob Coolen said. “The team started cheering before I saw it on the television screen. It shows that the WAC has gotten stronger and is playing tougher competition as a whole. We are no longer a one or two team conference. The NCAA selecting four teams from the WAC is a real monumental accomplishment and makes a statement.”

And here’s what Sportshawaii.com member HK had to say:

YES!!! Wow, getting in despite the drop at the end of the season is a sign of respect by the committee. It puts WAC softball in a positive light. Now they get the chance to prove the committee right.
