NelsonO reports on today’s spring practice:

Former Coach June Jones preferred to go with four and only four receivers during a game. Under Coach Jones, there was virtually no substitutions at the receiver spots outside of injury or in mop-up situations. I think the new offense may go with substitutions at the WR spots.

No shotgun formation yet as the QBs are still under center.

Safety Mana Silva took some snaps with the first team this morning.

There is a close battle for one of the cornerback spots between JoPierre Davis and Calvin Roberts. Davis has been the frontrunner, but Roberts has closed the gap.

Freshman Vaughn Meatoga is subbing for the injured Rocky Savaiigaea at defensive tackle.

The depth charts at this time are not set in lava. The coaches are making their best efforts to evaluate as many players as they can. For example, Erik Pedersen and Pookela Ahmad were the back-up outside linebackers on Saturday. Today, Tyson Kafentzis and R.J. Kiesel-Kauhane were the back-ups. Alasi Toilolo and Elliott Purcell were the back-up defensive ends on Saturday. Today, C.J. Allen Jones and Victor Clore were the back-ups.

I don’t think we have seen the real Blaze Soares yet. I just hope Soares can get healthy

Ryan Mouton had another interception today. Or should I say Mouton had his daily interception.

Mahalo to KKV2000 for his observations at practice today.

Discuss: Wednesday’s Warrior Practice. Thanks to NelsonO for another great report from the field.

Dave Reardon had news that Dane Kealoha Porlas and Josh Aufai were out with injuries, while Blaze Soares suited up again after suffering a stinger last week. He also relayed a play-by-play of today’s team session, as written by Brian McInnis.

Stephen Tsai hosted a chat with Wahine softball star Kate Robinson, and noted Calvin Roberts and Mana Silva practicing with the first team.

Leila Wai had a video interviews with Roberts and Silva, along with Ryan Mouton and Rich Miano. Wai also had a hilarious video where Mouton and Keao Monteilh asked fans to vote for who had the best hair.

And here’s a compilations of tonight’s news broadcasts, from Chawan Cut.
