We had another great session with University of Hawaii’s AD Jim Donovan this month.  Here are a few of the interesting questions that Jim answered this month.

Me: We have quite a few Kauai residents in the Sports Hawaii Ohana, are there any updates on the scrimmage to be held at the Vidinha Stadium? Also are there any updates on the time and activities of the annual Warrior Bowl on Friday April 30th?

WilderStreet:  Are the costs for doing the Kauai scrimmage being picked up entirely by sponsors and Kauai county?

Small~Axe:  In regards to the topic of the PAC10 expanding and Hawaii putting in a proposal, are there an any plans to unite all sports under one team nickname to show consistancy?

Women: Wahine, Rainbow Wahine, Na Wahine, etc
Mens: Warriors, Rainbow Warriors, etc.

I’m glad to see that most sports (if not all) have gone to the Traditional Green, White, and now Black.

SunTzuWarrior:  The latest topic of conversation in the world of UH athletics in the newspapers, sports radio and on the internet has been about mandatory student athletic fees. Could you explain to us the challenges and tribulations of implementing this and if it is a realistic goal for 2011? Do you have any say or does it have to be pushed from upper Manoa?
